We've had so much rain that I avoided the Malls until yesterday. We had to run out for Christmas wrap.
The Mall was packed, but it isn't a huge mall although most of the shops are upscale. When it was
remodeled four or five years ago, I thought that the developers concluded that we would never have
a recession. Last Christmas wasn't great for many merchants because they started their sale b4
Christmas. Also, several shops in the Mall closed down last fall.

I haven't been downtown so I don't know if people are buying. We have had an unusual amount of
rainfall which is not so unusual after several very dry years. The temperature is on the mild side.
Yesterday, it was sunny so a few of my rose buds opened. I cut almost a dozen. I need to cut
the others because the rain will ruin them.

I checked the price of cooked, whole fresh crab at the grocery store this week, and it was expensive:
over $4.00 a pound. The crabs were very, very small so they wouldn't have been a good buy.
