I can't imagine what it "feels" like to commit an atrocity or kill prisoners... The first atrocity that the US admitted, in my memory, was Lt. Calley in Vietnam......since then others in Korea and WWII and Vietnam have come to light. For example in one of his books, Stephen Ambrose says that 30-40% of vets he interviewed knew someone that killed a prisoner. Only 3% admitted killing any themselves.
