March 2001 Triple option week was down 6.1 percent...
September 2001 Triple Option week was down over 11 percent..
Jume 2001 Triple option week was down 4 percent..
December 2000 Triple option week was 4.2 percent..

Rich, Wow! All 4 triple witch weeks have been down significantly.
The odds of that must have been pretty low.

Could we be due for a big up week this time?
Have to believe that the pattern has to change.

That other data that you had provided about December expirations being only a 1% change--9 out of 10 years (except Dec 2000).

I guess it becomes a matter of comparing the long term trend to the short term (1yr) numbers. The contrast is incredible!

At this point, I am still looking into how best to play this week. Due for a major up week or another down triple witch. Going to watch the early week trading to place my bets.

Thanks for the data.
