Whortso!!! Re:I think you're making this sound more serious than it really is. Where I work we have a few athlon systems and a few more intel systems. The athlons crash roughly once in a day or so. So we power them off at night. That means we can go a week with only a couple of crashes on each athlons. The intel systems stay on 24/7 with no problems but they cost more. We use the athlons where we don't really need the reliability and just live with the shutdowns over night. It's really not that big a thing. We accept the tradeoff.

There's a value proposition: We suck and we're unreliable, but hey, your purchase cost is low. Sounds like the Yugo strategy of a few decades ago. Wow. This post must be a joke or a satire, right?

Re: Where I work we have a few athlon systems and a few more intel systems

Funny, our experience is just the opposite. The Intel systems lock up periodically, but the Athlon systems are rock solid.

And, because the Athlon systems are so much faster, they get used more and have to run more complex software.

Whatever. Enjoy your junk.
