I've just read that piece by Madeleine Bunting once again. It's worth a second mention. It's a work of art of "anti war" B/S. That guy constantly referred to in the "anti war" press was actually killed fairly quickly. Probably only because the soldiers in question were on the march and in a hurry to get somewhere. Although the film showed he had been wounded in the groin area, he didn't show much pain, though fear can be an overriding factor. I have read much worse of the Taliban and what, doesn't that count? I found it sad enough seeing all those dead bodies of young people, and kinda sick all those press people trying to take "artistic" pictures of them...probably to try and get some award.

I'm tempted to say... not enough of the press died in this war, that piece by M.Bunting has put me in a vicious mood...

drivel I only read the Guardian (or the grauniad as it's known as [because of the number of spelling mistakes it makes)]...

Judging by the Bunting piece you printed, there seems to be little difference between the Independent and the Guardian. I've certainly noticed little difference when I've checked their Mideast coverage.
