This is not an obvious question. It would depend on their goals. For example, do they want to hedge using leverage with less money or are they looking for some intermediate sell and hold investment? (Don't answer here. I only raise the question to show that I don't believe the answer is so obvious. Check out the Rydex funds [www.rydexfunds.com]. They are flexible and the slippage is not too bad.)
