trying to define when life begins
It's really dodging the question to wonder where life begins. Life began billions of years ago in the oceans, all life on Earth is a continuation of that event. What people are really curious about is when does a particular characteristic begin that results in a person.

RE:The easy answers are (1) conception or (2) birth. Everything else is fudging numbers

I choose (1) which is why I abhor abortion and that's about as much as I want to get into an abortion debate.
