4:35PM Solectron (SLR) 14.45 -0.61 (-4.1%): Announces that it will issue its Q1 earnings release tomorrow in premarket hours (2 days ahead of schedule), because of the need to "make a material announcement". The co will hold a conference call at 8 AM ET Tuesday. 4:08PM Kopin (KOPN) 15.05 +0.23 (+1.6%): Stock ended the session barely in the green today, despite an earlier Pacific Growth upgrade to BUY from Mkt Perform; firm views CNXT-AHAA merger as strategically positive for KOPN, as the company is the primary supplier of HBT wafers to both, and should benefit as CNXT-AHAA expands its mkt share. Also, CNXT's raised guidance this morning gives increased confidence in KOPN projections. 11:13AM RF Micro Device (RFMD) 22.83 -0.51 (-2.2%): Wall Street generally positive on news CNXT and AHAA will merge their wireless component businesses. Firms also are commenting on expected losers in the deal. ABN AMRO sees the combined company competing more strongly with RFMD in the wireless handset biz. Trading floor sources at CIBC World Mkts telling us that firm expects smaller players, like ANAD (-2.3%), to get marginalized. finance.yahoo.com I think the AHAA/CNXT news had a negative effect on TQNT as well today. The lower Bollinger Band on TQNT is now below 14 setting the stock up for a further drop. Oh well.. they go up.. they go down. RtS
