<OT> conversation with Arab friend (in Dubai, UAE) Amer is a smart guy working for internet commerce SW firm he is half Greek, half Palestinian, late 30's lived half his life in WashingtonDC, other half in Arab world met him in Florida last year, bright funny great guy now living in Dubai with apartment overlooking Persian Gulf temperatures never vary from 70-80 degrees yearround, he claims he thinks the entire Al Qaeda organization is "burger meat" that they will not mount ANY more serious terrorist acts that they are leaderless and without a military anymore that they will not attack any oil supertankers that they will not bomb anything else in the USA that their sleeper cells will shrivel up, aimless that their money will dry up, as will all direction he is an odd duck, but very well connected he chases daughters of Saudi princes his father lives in Riyadh and is connected he prefers Irish stewardesses (many stories) he is not accepted fully by Arabs he practices Greek Orthodox religion, not Islam his brother gets beaten by Israelis in WestBank, Palestine plenty of harrowing stories about life on WestBank interesting that Americans are still reeling and fearful of future attacks the anthrax cases only kept our levels of fear high are we unjustifiably fearful still ??? / jim
