What are you opinions on being gay and declaring to be a Jew, if you care to comment?

Odd way to put it; one is a Jew first, then 'declares' being gay later. I haven't given the subject a lot of thought; obviously the Orthodox have a problem, though I have known several religious but not Othodox Jews who have arrived at a modus vivendi.
