got a great test case in SaudiArabia now on oil/gas
Saudis opened up their country to foreign bidders
gonna build more methane gas plants, supporting industries
they want expanded economy with petrochemical, etc
foreigners put up money, take %age of net
big gas fields virtually untapped

two hitches from what I read and heard from mining friend
first, Saudi gas is LOADED with deadly hydrogen sulfide
breath it and you get sulfuric acid in lungs, instant death
second, Saudis have sabotaged this entire effort with price control
like oil, gas, and electricity at 1/3 market prices
so where is the profit? nowhere
you talk of local countries benefiting from lower prices
no way, brownbagger KamaSutraMan
local countries will have major problem with pricing
the higher price will go to the foreign markets

the entire Saudi project is way behind schedule now
the hitch is pricing
with lower prices come nonexistent profits
nothing to share, no return on investment to foreigners
instead of ceremonies to sign big new contracts
they are meeting to sign letters of agreement
read: progress reports on stalled agreements
Saudis want to create ultra-cheap electricity and gas for industry
they are running deficits again with crude oil down in price
they have announced 20% govt budget cuts
tough times for desert men with no pants

imagine you are a Kazahk mogul
you gots production of 50k bbl/day now
you knows you can get production up to 100k bbl/day
but your govt wants you to double output for benefit of fellow ragheads in Kazahkstan
govt demands that added output is at 40% discount to market price
YOU DONT INCREASE OUTPUT, case closed

pricing and investment for pipelines will be major hitches
if I am shallow in my thought process, help me
unless you have been sitting curbside talking to Jack Daniels
