Hi John, OFF TOPIC

No doubt there is still need for cable to be installed around our globe.

There has intentionally been placed duplicates and backups. The cost in digging and installation is where the money is - so it was smart to bury additional capacity as long as they were there.

I think the future growth is in the components that hook up small metro areas to the big cables. It is thru this build out of the last mile that excess capacity can be utilized.

In that GLW's business focusses on cable I think they will be somewhat of a laggard. To the degree that they can focus on the component growth they will be successful.I'm sure the transition is easily done by them and curreently underway. This is/has probably been a source of the many layoffs we hear about in this sector.

It is a big puzzle.Who's doing what and what becomes hot is always popping up as change. One thing I believe however is the megatrend is there and that justifies my interest in following the many new devlopements.

One last thing about cable. It has its place in cities forever. However when it comes to urban applications, satellite will replace it as that technology evolves.

To me satellite is really interesting and a tremendous growth area that is just beginning.
