Doubt if MSFT warns...doubt it very much..This market keeps making higher lows and is getting ready to retest the last highs IMHO..
If however SLR warns today..some may take it as a reflection of MSFT since SLR makes the Xbox..amongst other products.

There was ZERO talk about upgrading to XP.
I restate there simply is no reason.
If MSFT raises prices 10% then companies might put it off 2 more years.

Let me get this right. I believe you are saying that if say a certain percentage of a companies pre Y2K machines totally out of warantee die in next two years, they would:

-- replace them with new $1,000 systems with W2K Pro or XP Pro where almost $500 goes to MSFT for OS and Office.

or
-- do you predict that due to massive layoffs will be a numerous storage closets with spare PC's to choose a PC from even after rampant pilferage by their outsourced cleaning staffs. I think that what happened at Lucent's facilities in NJ.
