But that is what I'm saying. Current desktop VC offerings from Zydacron are not choppy. Bandwidth is a problem but is not related to the PC hardware or software. The Zydacron boards that I used work from 128K to full T1 in increments of 128K bandwidth. From 256K on up there is no choppyness. You do need QOS though. FVC had these 25Mb ATM boxes that worked wonders for QOS. So everything is there in both hardware and software. Yet people are not going to it by the millions. Maybe they need that magic price point of zero $?
