Oh, MAN I am BUMMED with that news! Big Country is awesome, I have fond memories listening to that stuff in my cousin's basement way back in about Grade 8. A coupla years ago I bought "The Crossing", digitally re-mastered with a few new tracks. Big Country has a sound like no other. Their sound is like a big exquisite artwork, a feast of musical textures and colours. Great driving tunes. One of my faves is "Porrohman", an eclectic hard-driving tune that just goes on and on. The lyrics don't start until well after 2 minutes into the song. I've just put it on and got it cranked right now....
