Just speculation, but the resistance by the Bush admin to investigate or implement any form of price controls on power during the height of the speculative pricing in California could very well have been a quid pro quo which netted ENE about $3-4 billion. Might be interesting to hear what went on on those private meetings between Ken Lay and Cheney.

I will say this, if it had been a democrat in the white house, I don't think you'd be sitting back yawning quo bene.
