And once they are taken away they can take years or even worse never be restored Here I must agree. The NFA unconstitutionally restricted firearms by instituting taxes on firearms and silencers that were confiscatory in nature. A $200 tax on a $10 item or even a $50 or $100 item is confiscatory. From there it just got worse. All to give the "revenooers" of the ATF a new job after the repeal of Prohibition and incidentally keep the rest of the bureaucracy going.
