You misunderstood. I was referring to those who imagine themselves sophisticated, compared to the "clueless".....

I did not rationalize calling anyone traitors, etc. I expressly said I objected to such things. I merely pointed out mitigating factors, which is not the same, to defend my decision not to ostracize people for intemperate language. This is not the first time you have misrepresented me, and I daresay it will not be the last. However, I do not accuse you of lying about me, only of making an error.......

the fact remains that they don't have power, and won't-- the left has so thoroughly disgraced itself since September 11, imo, it has made itself even more irrelevant than it was previously, and will remain so for a long time, also imo.

This is what I have found most perplexing--the expenditure of so much energy to stamp out that which is so lifeless and effete, as I mentioned earlier today, that it isn't a worthy object of such attention.
