You know, what's happened lately is really pretty much of a reprise of late 1998 and early 2000. In all three cases the Fed goosed the money supply (LTCT, Y2K, and 9/11) to stave off panic, and in all three cases the free cash sluiced into the stock markets.

I remain pretty comfortable with my 2004 puts on the Dow and the QQQs, though of course my timing could have been better in recommitting to them. And I recently added more Prudent Bear in my IRA.

I'd rather not be a permabear, but it's better than being a permafool.
