In addition, 4,000 employees in the Semiconductor Products Sector are now being notified that their positions will be eliminated over the next year, as the company has identified plants that will be closed over the next year, in addition to those announced earlier this year. Motorola will also cut 1,300 employees in equipment manufacturing. Motorola previously said 5,500 jobs were transferred to other corporations, which acquired Motorola businesses or plants.
