Dave, thanks for that article. I have seen others outlining similar launches. . .not just for music but even television shows and full-length feature films like those you would normally rent at the local Movie Gallery are available for download. I still have @Home network cable service, now run by ComCast cable. . . boy is it messed up. . .down about 5 minutes out of every 20 it is up. So I couldn't download a movie, but those with DSL modems and stable cable could.

However, this entire market of media delivery was never intended for us to download into our PCs. So where are all those millions of set-top boxes that so many companies have stored away in warehouses? When are they going to release them? They are designed specifically for such large downloads, buffering way ahead of what they play. And now that the cable modem is sufficiently dead, are we all expected to rush out and order DSL? And isn't that a sort of purgatory to the heaven that will come with the set-top box?

Anyway. . . .not much fanfare for such a grand event. . .wouldn't you agree?
