Thanks again RR.

FWIW, I try to make my longer term calls based mostly on economic & company specific news & fundamentals. I try to make my short term calls watching the 'wiggles' to try to get a good entry/exit.

No doubt there is some pollution when looking at short term calls while trying to map a longer term trend. I'm sure a certain amount of bias leaks into the process.

As much as I see near term weakness persisting in the overall economy, I am impressed at how resilient the equities markets have been considering ongoing evidence of economic weakness. Perhaps we are nearing the end of this downturn though & the market is 6-9 months ahead of the turn.

We still have to be cautious though. I don't think the markets have priced in for any uncertainty WRT our country being on a high state of alert for terrorist attacks & the continuing war on terrorism. Where will the war on terrorism turn once Afghanistan is cleared out? Will it be as easy to fight the terrorists there (Iraq perhaps) as Afghanistan? What will worldwide reaction be? Who will support it? Will any countries stand against it?

Still hard not to be somewhat bearish right now.
