OT: Japan

Apropos of an earlier discussion about Japan, today's WSJ has a front page left hand column story about Japan's coming Lost Generation, high school graduates who end up working part time jobs as "freeters" (a combination of "free" and "arbeiters [temporary workers, from the German "arbeit," which the Japanese and Koreans use for temporary, after school kind of work; tutoring math, for example, is quintessential "arbeit"].

In any event, maybe someone with electronic access can cut and paste a bit of it here.

Middle paragraph profiles Islamadin, a taxi driver who became a burkha entrepreneur during the Taliban era, now looking to a future in the glassware business.
