I own a loaded Compaq Presario and i love it(my first PC was a Gateway, but i can't judge it against Compaq as it was a 1996 "dinosaur").The irony is this machine is so good i will not buy another.
The key question is,which i have no answer, how many computers of a loaded Presario quality are already out there.
I also note my PC does not have a Pentium4--and the thought of not having one means nothing to me.Even though i am only a 56 modem, this is far far far faster than my old Gateway---all i want is broadband--and regards that i can only hope DTV gets a high quality service going---my PC has 56modem,a P3,a DVD, CD-rewrittable,128mb memory and 10gigabytes of storage(and a CD-Burn,whatever that is???) and for all the good it does me,a DSL-modem which will never get used.
Anyway as the PC wars heat up they are selling this quality of PC at low low prices(and i see well below what i paid for same) so as they glut the market with "for a lifetime" computers at small margins where the heck be the PC makers longterm future??max
