stops ...

Sue, mulling over the term stop ..... inside what is left of my feeble mind .... I'm trying to think of the last time I opened a position WITHOUT a stopper .....

can't recall a single time in over twenty years, at least, that I've not had a stopping point .....
whether the position have been long OR short ....

that said, however, the futures market IS a wee bit dif from the equity mkt .....
I have posted, and have said many times in the past that the BigBoard is a better place FOR ME, than is the Nasty ...
but I have been active at both until the past few years when I devoted myself to the futures ......

The futures is really a highly treacherous place ... actually, kinda like the Naz, only running at triple or quad speed .... it makes the Naz seem like slow motion ....
but,
I have done fairly well there .....

I hardly ever MANUALLY set a stop on the mini ....
as there is a GREAT propensity for the bigboys to "run the stops" .....
but
I have the stop set on an open screen on my computer, ready to execute in under five seconds ....
and I continually move the stop ....
perhaps two or three times per minute
whilst the long or short contract is open .....
depending upon the longevity of my position ....
