To: Greg or e who wrote (33375 ) 12/19/2001 8:44:27 PM From: Jamey Respond to of 39621 I see nothing spiritual about God's promises to Abraham. I noticed one verse that has caused much consternation is this: "Now to Abraham and his Seed were the promises made. He does not say, "And to seeds," as of many, but as of one, "And to your Seed,"3:16 Genesis 12:7; 13:15; 24:7 who is Christ." As of one, who is Christ. Many have mistaken this to mean the promises were to Israel and Judah when in fact, they seem to me to be to the promised seed who would be Jesus. My comparisons of verses about dire destruction in Isaiah was when the Babylonians defeated Israel and carried them off as slaves. The earth was evidently not moved out of its place else we would have all flown off the face of the earth. I compared that to the same language in Matthew and Revelation to prove to you that in 70AD, meteor showers, earthquakes and tribulation that coincided with Daniels time frames occured but as in Isiah, the sun did not go out for this to happen. This brought about the end the Jewish era (not the world) and the law and for Christ to take his rightful place to bring in His Kingdom into the hearts of men. I sincerely believe that this was a coming of Parousia of Christ at least to fulfill His prophesies about the destruction of Herod's Temple and to bring about the tribulation and end of the Jewish era of the teachings of the Law. Some agree with this rather haltingly because they cannot deny it or they would be saying that Christ's prophesies were in error. (There are many verses that absolutely prove that Christ predicted that it would occur in that generation.) 40 years, the same amount of time that the generation of Jews wandered before they were allowed to cross over Jordan and claim the Holy land. Some try to attempt to say that there is a double fulfillment and there was a coming of Christ but not the actual Second Coming to reclaim His Kingdom. This leads to major disagreements among Christians because they apply too much literal meaning when Christ clearly says that His Kingdom will be in the hearts of men. Not a physical temple built by human hands that he will live in a thousand years. This is creating a split that shows falsly that there is a separate plan for the Jews and the Christians when in fact Christ considers Jew and Greek as part of His Kingdom provided that they accept Christ as the Son of God. I know that many have trouble accepting a complete Preturist view that all prophesy wqas fulfilled in 70AD and call themselves partial Preturists. I fail to see why the label themselves partial when they believe only part of Christ's prophesies have came true and 19 generations we are still waiting for the bye and bye, pie in the sky nonsense that has led every generation for centuries to look for Christ in their generation to return and rapture them before the tribulation when in fact the tribulation happened in 70AD. This is the only concept that allows for the complete Bible to be in harmony without the pitfalls and falsehoods that men have taught ever since Darby came out with his rendition of the Bible. Do you believe that Christ, the 12 Apostles and converts to Christianity believed that the Parousia would be 2000 years + before they would be in God's Kingdom? The axe was laid to the root of the tree! These were prophesies of immediancy in there lifetimes. That is what gave then the courage to look hopefully to be taken away from the tribulation that they were going through! Ye shall not have gone through all the cities of Israel before I return! Revelation begins and ends that surely I come quickly! What a shame to have filled peoples minds with nonsense for so long. Santiago
