Christopher requested a "pax," which means a peace. You might call it a "blink." I call it a request for dropping the matter and starting anew, and, in the spirit of the season, and because I felt a service to a friend had been accomplished, and bonuses achieved as well, assented. If you ever want to know my motives for engaging in any argument, feel free to ask. Your "just for the exercise" often applies. Merry Christmas! (Christmas for us will be a family reunion, complete with many children under ten. I have four little nieces and nephews whom I've never even met. I've just packed eight Viking helmets in a big box along with two battery-operated blinking haloes and some giant, adult, teddy bear head bedroom slippers. It is my hubby's plan to lead a Viking army and two angels (the store had two fewer helmets than there will be children) into town to pillage and plunder for treats. The giant bear slippers he will actually wear in public on the expedition (the man has no shame, if he thinks the children will think it's a hilarious adventure, he'll do anything, there is no child who doesn't absolutely adore him), the red felt-lined mouth being where your feet go; he will claim that they are the gory trophies of an earlier and victorious violent struggle with two enormous and very dangerous bears. There was no Viking Helmet for his head, but I found something for him that is crown-like, all gold and red; he says it is exactly what the King of the Viking Army wears when he pillages.)
