richardred, I agree on tax loss selling. It's hard to pick
when it's mostly over, so I've established positions, even if
a few days early.
I've moved sideline cash into bio-techs. Not seeing an engine to drive hi-tech, phones, semis, computers, etc,
I expect them to continue to falter. I was hoping for broadband but it's rolling out slower than I ever imagined.
When I took early retirement from TXN in 1996 I felt confident it would be in most households like p.c.'s and
cellulars today. WRONG! Bio-tech offers a real chance for
growth relative to other markets IMO. I expect a strong
Jan. in this sector, and maybe even a strong 2002 depending
how research unfolds.

A lot has gone on since last time I was here. Short interest was over 4 million last month.
