Hi Frank,
We used to use an ISP that used Breezecom (same as BreezeLink?) equipment for the last mile. It worked fine, but the ISP oversubscribed the hell out of the network, so we were constantly competing for our minimum 64k CIR. At night, the connection was screaming fast, though. Also possible that some of the service brown-outs were the result of 2.4Ghz interference. Outdoor unit had to be replaced after about a year (but it was fully amortized!!!). Bottom line is that it worked for us, but was flaky at times.
Cheers,
Thomas

Hi Frank,

Alvarion 2Mbps (and 3Mbps) FH is widely deployed outdoors in PMP by wISPr operators. At the time that Breezecom acquired Floware, about half Breezecom's sales were outdoor PMP, a quarter wireless Ethernet bridges, and a quarter WLANs. There was no nlos technology in the FH products. Near LOS and Non LOS refer to the amount of additional path loss caused by reflections, compared to Line Of Sight path loss.

I misremember Near LOS as 3dB impairment and Non LOS as 6dB impairment. It is common to ignore the energy at the beginning of each symbol (baud), as 'delay spread' energy from the previous symbol is also present.
A Non-LOS technology properly combines the 'delay spread' energy back into the previous symbol, allowing the remaining energy to contribute to the decoding of the current symbol.

Your mileage may vary.
