i know it is not handheld,aj(gees you must think my brain is a flea sized:)---i was also addressing the fact that handheld wireless Generation 3 has a shaky future:)regards wireles outfits for rural areas <There are some people in the mountain states that have little networks hooked up using directional wireless coming from someone's satellite dish.> this was an idea that was tried nation-wide during the time of big dishes --it proved to be a major failure--in fact a lot of small entrepreneurs lost their shirt that were flim-flammed into thinking if they bought the equipment they would get rich.
Wireless will never be a success in rural areas except for club type non-profit groups like Amateur Radio Clubs have and are financed by the Club for members only.
As for success of wireless ISP on a major scale in cities---i have grave doubts.Max
