The only motivation behind Democrats resisting the "package" is that they want to prevent the economy from recovering before the 2002 elections so that they can blame a poor economy on Bush in an effort to grab both houses and thereby take us back to the greatness of Clinton.

The Republicans shouldn't compromise because the "package" will accomplish nothing. It's just another giveaway to the poor with the condition that you have to pay for someone else's medical insurance even if you don't have any of you own.

So were horses and (BTW) horse manure.

Gold was created by God as a thing of value.
