Bush is a bigger deficit spender than Reagan. No doubt about it. We are returning to "200 billion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see." Remember that cute slogan? It was used by Republicans to describe Clinton's plans but it didn/t turn out that way, did it? Remember the dire predictions of a recession that would be caused by the 1993 tax increase. It did not turn out that way, did it?

It is not all his debt. Nor, be it noted, did I say that there was no waste. I just said that debt need not be wasteful, and that his increases, which were largely a function of the military build- up, were not. Had the Democrats exercised more restraint, there would have been a good deal less waste.......By the way, if you consider breaking the back of terrorism a trifle, you are very....misguided......
