Re: Thomas, it is just that you always blame the US for the turmoil in the Muslim world. I happen to think that is very shallow and that these people should bear the consequences for their actions. Just as you and I do on a daily basis.

LOL! Such a misperception of yours.... "Turmoil in the Muslim world"! Well, let's go through it, country by country: Morocco? Pretty quiet, actually... Nice tourist resorts; Tunisia? Same as Morocco.... Algeria? you've got a point here: widespread unrest because of Europe's support of the junta's crackdown on political Islam; Libya? Quiet; Turkey? Lot of troubles ahead since the country's prospect of ever joining the EU club have fizzled out; Iran? the mollahs have completed their 1979 revolution successfully --of course, as in many other countries, youth unrest/impatience occurs time and again (see the far-right/left in Europe); Malaysia? Back on track (after the 1998 Asian flu); etc., etc.

Now, if you really wanna have a taste of turmoil, just look into your own backyard: South America. Remember, according to your Monroe Doctrine, South America is the US's exclusive bailiwick.... See how Catholic Argentina is faring these days:

Argentina in state of siege after deadly riots

December 20, 2001 Posted: 1:07 AM EST (0607 GMT)

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (CNN)
-- Violence raged through the night and into Thursday morning following a government-declared state of siege after at least two people died in escalating violence by rioters angry at the country's economic crisis and the failure of a government austerity plan to keep the economy afloat.
