This is a Cabernet, but we did try it last night at our local half-price Wednesdays place: Eshcol Cabernet 1998. $22; $11 to us. Not one we will order again, though it was quite satisfactory. Pleasantly astringent, but not a very complex flavor, and definitely lacking in character as compared, say, to the Ravenswood Vinter's Choice Zin at the same price. But very far from a disaster. I would be happy to drink this every night--if I could get it for $4.00 a bottle.
