The NRA thinks you are a responsible citizen until proven otherwise and defends your right to protect life and property and preserve your freedoms. That the ACLU interprets the 2nd to mean the militia and not "the people" as individuals is a big disappointment....so big I find it hard to support them even though they do some good. As we have seen in Afghanistan and other countries, if you do not have the right and means of self-protection you are easily subjugated, making all those other rights and "rights" meaningless.
