FL,
may i look a little further abroad?

the economic situation in argentina is becoming extremely serious.

with over 40 million folks, a collapsed banking system, and crime in the streets, an escalation into total chaos is possible...a spillover into neighboring countries seems inevitable.

argentina is/was a major economy...
the largest exporter of soy oil, soy flour and sunflower oil; the largest sorghum and honey producer; the second largest exporter of corn, (the United States is the first); the third largest exporter of meat; and the fifth largest producer of flour. He noted that Argentina is also probably one of the top five lactose-producing countries.

i would not be surprised to see new problems emanating from uruagay, paraguay, bolivia and brazil as well of course as columbia and peru.

considering the major league economic problems in argentina, mexico, japan and germany...one question in my mind is how can we project our own economic recovery to a level of two years ago?

forgetting even that for a moment...there are also some big league terrorist orgs in south america that continue to flourish. economic collapse will not leave much of a government to combat them.
