I would say that the Great Depression is relevant in showing us why an exact replay won't happen....

About discarding things - I would dump the flat-earth approach, because it's wrong. But, I would not discard the round-earth klnowledge as having done its job. What about rephrasing like "alotting the appropriate place in the hierarchy of knowledge and decision instruments". Because the maxime "it serves as no guide to clear my views of IS today" is strictly utilitarian, "dont-bother-me-with-BS-facts" approach. Why kick the flat-earth habit anyhow, if "IS today" what it's all about.

Just pleading for some laterality. Hey, btw, who read anything by Marx in this round? (Reader's digest does not count)Who read anything about depr.... oops, I know one;

Anyway.... We should all strive to become peripheral visionaries.
