My Compaq has a program that allows Compaq service to access my system. No need to use it so far.

Compaq also has a System Restore program. The system restore program backs up everything on the C drive to a D drive and then checks for updates. When I have software problem, I just restore the system to an earlier date. I have used it several times with absolutely no problem. Eliminated a virus with it last year.

I have to say this is the best PC I have ever owned. That includes a number of business PCs and laptops. That included several Compaq desk tops, and toshiba laptops. I think a big part is the software.
