There is a local case where a young lady went to the dentist to have a cavity filled. They dentist froze with needles the area around the tooth and caused lower paralysis of her face with no chance of recovery. Two top med-mal lawyers were fighting for her business and both eventually punted her after it was found not one dentist or professor of dentistry would testify on her behalf. I.e. $hit happens. I immediately cancelled a dental appointment after hearing this story.
