Harold, right click on the 'my computer' icon and then click on 'properties'. The box that pops up tells you the version of Windows you have.

I don't think you can download any version of Windows - it comes on a CD. Maybe you meant to talk about downloading a browser?

Harold, to see if there are any downloads for YOUR version of Windows go to windowsupdate.microsoft.com
Click on 'product updates' and wait a while until all available updates are identified for YOUR PC. It's quite safe. :)
