They will all get trapped by the deflation monster. Has anyone seen the price drops in sooooo many things? Only the real estate bubble is propping up hopes. Without that ONE thing, this economy implodes.

IS anyone really buying? Or are they ONLY buying if something is put on a drastic SALE -- like auto 0% interest or retail marking down 30-75%? What happens when the holiday "shopping" season ends, and retailers cannot continue to offer items at tiny margins or even at break-even or losses? Buying then DIES.

Japan has had severe deflation. Ah, but we could not possibly see that in America! Or has it already begun? How much have computers fallen in price over the past 2 years? How about DRAM prices? Have they fallen a little? Is 70-80% a little? Has OIL been falling? Natural gas? How about wholesale prices? They only had the worst month EVER (Oct. I think) since records started being kept in the 1940's.

Bankruptcies are skyrocketing. This will further drive deflation. Even housing in certain areas has started to fall some.

Perhaps they can stop the terrible deflation of other countries, but some of the policies they have used for the past few years in an attempt to do nothing more than prop up the stock market and make people "feel" wealthy may come to haunt the entire world.

I remain,
