Good post, Hawk.

Yes, the current PA has done a lot to strengthen the hand of the Israeli Right; if by some miracle, moderates ever took control of the Palestinians and suppressed Hamas et. al., you would see the Israeli divisions re-emerge. But in that case, the US would pressure them to compromise as it did before.

That's one reason the Turks and Israelis have established close ties. The Turks control effectively ALL the water that transits down the Jordan, as well as the Tigris and Euphrates

Israel and Turkey have close ties? That's good news, sounds as if the solution is right there.

Mind you, I would dispute that just because water lands in a particular place (at the moment) it "belongs" to someone. Water is borrowed, not typically owned. Basic simple stuff -g-
