( The propaganda windup against Iraq in the press
continues, not that there isn't a lot of nasty material
to work with )

very astute comment mr. ss

there are way too many who would swallow
that story, hook, line and sinker... even
though its only basis is the word of
a heretofore unheard of iranian "defector/traitor".

with no corroboration whatsoever, that kind
of story belongs in a tabloid next to the
"i was abducted and raped by a bearded lady
from mars" story... the only difference being
that Abu Zeinab al-Qurairy might personally
have more to gain from the tale than the
martian abductee.

the story "could" be true, but it "could"
just as easily be a fabrication. publishing
it without corroboration or a disclaimer
is irresponsible journalism and seriously
discredits the new york post - notice how
they lay the blame for the story off on
"the February issue of Vanity Fair"
-- the spineless wimps.

in order to retain any credibility whatsoever,
the NY post's headline of the story should have
read something like, "February Issue Of Vanity
Fair To Publish Uncorroborated Tale Of Iranian
Death Squad."
