<<SQL Server Awards this year:>> my response is with oracle 9i with real application clusters (RAC). benefits of RAC: 1. virtually fault tolerant 2. best scaling database. 3. unbreakable:) used u.s. intelligence agencies (i.e., fbi, cia, etc). you usually do not hear about these guys getting hacked. guess what their running: oracle. 4. just introduced; give it another six months to a year. 5. supports windows, linux, solaris, etc. i believe sql only supports one platform; very bad going forward. 6. orcl database sales went down primarily due to economic events and has nothing to do with msft taking market share away. rocky.
