There are several hundred posts each day on yahoo wdc and mxo boards. Granted most are just personal attacks. But the news of wdc's upside warning was posted within seconds of its announcement. And the effect on the stock was discussed and accurately predicted very quickly. The real problem is that analysts simply do not do analysis. And even though wdc has tripled since its bottom, and mxo doubled, hardly anyone follows these stocks. Yesterday for the call-in CC only 3 analysts participated.
