US Bombing of Afghan Tribal Convoy Kills 65
dailynews.yahoo.com

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - U.S. warplanes on
Friday bombed a convoy of Afghan tribal
elders on their way Kabul to attend the
inauguration of the interim government, killing
about 65 people, the Afghan Islamic Press
(AIP) said.

The air strikes in the eastern province of Paktia
began on Thursday night and continued into
Friday morning, the private Pakistan-based
AIP said.

Fourteen vehicles in the convoy were
completely destroyed by the bombing near
Sato Kandau, near the provincial capital,
Gardez, AIP said quoting a member of the
provincial shura, or council, Sayed Yaqeen.

The 65 killed included tribal elders and former
mujahideen commanders, AIP said.

This is one SICKENING development of "military intelligence".....
since when do locals have the authority to call in major airstrikes?
Since when does the Pentagon tout this all morning on the news as the great strike against the Taliban
elite? and now it turns out we've decimated the entire elite of that ANTI Talibans with AC-130 GUNSHIPS!?
Bush is going to have to pay for this total screw up...

How sad. I guess the cavemen will have to deal with the wrath of the surviving Moin. I wish I could offer condolences directly.
