Way OT- Hi Wilder, I NEVER thought of myself as an associate. My job was to make the firm (the owners successful) - I owed that to my employer. I have never asked for a raise, only for the resources that could be applied cost effectively to make the firm prosper. In time, I built a department that the owners said would never amount to anything into half the revenues. The owners who were not always happy with this brash frank and aggressive youngster, eventually picked me to run the firm. I did not ask for it and did not even necessarily want it. I deeply care about people. In fact, I think that only people have lasting value. But, in business, I know that unless the "team" produces the spoils are not there to share. So everything should be done to make people as productive as can be efficiently done. I guess that makes me a capitalist. <g> ij
