Where would we be if half of the US populations was still engaged in agriculture? Or, would you like to see our population returned to that? Even if you would - it can't be done.

I am not sure what you mean by that. But, if we all lived like the Amish, we would not demonstrate so dramatically the utter failure of Islam as an economic system. So if that is what you mean - I agree.

Granted higher efficiency does allow the earth to support larger populations but efficiency does not require larger populations so efficiency is not the problem.

People consume - an economic system does not and certainly not the most efficient one.
