OT: Regarding Bambi

Hey, I like it. What is this, however, with the sudden interest in Reason? Tekboy's previous post recommendation was to a fascinating article in that online journal. And one of the reviews of Kramer's book was there.

Anyone know anything about it?

John

OT: Bambi ... I note there was no mention of the exploding populations of people in cars. Must be an Oriental bias. <GG>

OT: Frankw1900,

Thank you for bringing this dangerous animal to the attention of the thread. Not mentioned is the additional deaths "bambi" brings to hunters. Several have been killed by flying (very sharp) hooves after they thought an animal was dead, also some have killed themselves with razor sharp hunting knives while field dressing a kill. The blade slips enters their own flesh (usually a leg) cuts an artery and a hospital is nowhere near. Not to mention the number of hunters who enter the woods, get lost, and go nuts and kill themselves in the process.

I was out walking my dog last week at dusk, when a large male deer came bounding over from a housing estate and main road, something had scared it. My dog spooked the deer even further and it rushed towards me!!! Those things seem to ride on air and it flew past my head just a few feet away.

Could have been poetic justice incident for the deer. I imagined a local news headline... Another "Innocent" hiker killed by deer menace. -g-
