Max, I think it was Justa who posted that the 31st was always up about 10-days ago or so. I don't remember how far back it went, but I think it was 10-20 years.

Historical Data:
Yahoo has a free site with data on major indices. If you query the system in the right way, it may give you all the Nasdaq trading results for each December 31st. Best to doublecheck this "sure thing" before committing $.
